Individual Counseling for Children

Most of our children will face challenges as they move through their childhood into adulthood. Regardless if the issue is a temporary setback or ongoing concern, children will address that issue differently depending on their stage of life. The counseling relationship can help children and adolescents cope with their problems during all stages of life.

When counseling children, we believe in parent involvement as an essential part of the counseling relationship. Parents will be consulted during each session to discuss questions, concerns or therapeutic progress.

The most effective approach to counseling children is Play Therapy. As a Play Therapist, our counselors will provide a warm, safe and empathetic environment where children feel comfortable expressing their feelings and concerns.

Counseling can help children in the areas of:

  • ADD/ADHD Evaluations
  • Anger Management
  • Low Self-Esteem
  • Behavior Difficulties (school & home)
  • Lack of Motivation
  • Social Skills
  • Parenting Skills
